There are many things that I love about iGoDigital. The quality most near and dear to my heart is the entrepreneurial spirit. As an industry as a whole, we all must continue to innovate to stay competitive in this ultra competitive environment. To emphasize this fundamental piece of iGoDigiital, we have set out on a two day project to create a brand new product from scratch (kind of crazy, right?). Check out Scribblr.
But, it is a project that is coming together as our team unites. It’s a learning experience that has made project managers into evangelist and developers into marketing. As a non-technical team member, my respect and appreciation has grown greatly for the developers and graphic team. This is not a project that any typical company would embark on in the middle of the year. Luckily, iGoDigital is not your typical company.
While the day has given us all a better understanding of the things needed to create a new product and company, I would like to take a step back and look more at the history and culture that has led up to this two day experiment.
We were founded in 2004 when our CEO Eric Tobias helped Best Buy create an innovative solution that solved a direct need for the electronics superstore. As the story goes, Eric had been working with Best Buy during his Batteries.com days when he asked the question he encourages all of us to ask “What else could we be doing for you?” From there a battery finder and iGoDigital was born.
Online retailers are the leaders in online innovation, and we have helped many of our clients make an idea into a reality. As we continue to ask this question, our clients and prospects continue to push our personalization solution. How has this question shaped iGoDigital over the years?
2004 – Best Buy Battery Finder
2007 – Doubleday Book Club “Recommendations Just For You” Page
2009 – Lids.com Individual Shopper Taste Graph
2012 – Stay Tuned, we have two cool personalization solutions launching in Q2. Don’t forget about Scribblr.
These are a just a few of the innovative highlights that come from the walls of our great Indianapolis organization. This long history of innovation has led to these two forma Innovation Days, which had a whole team developing a brand new project in just 48 hours.
Why do we continue to innovative? It’s the foundation of our organization. Innovative is the lifeline of our business and our customers. We must continue to innovative for our retail partners. Most of all, it is our passion - We love to develop solutions that helps mold the future of online retailer.
